A new exhibit downtown
An exhibit called "The Collectionists" is open at the Vision Art Gallery in downtown Chandler and runs through Nov 7.

Downtown is the part of the city that rewards showing up without a plan. Dr. A.J. Chandler laid the town site out in 1912 in the "City Beautiful" style, with wide avenues and a central plaza, and the result is a district small enough to cover on foot in an afternoon. An exhibit plus the Saturday morning crowd at the park is most of a day.
What to watch: the Sept 11 reception is the one evening the artists are scheduled to be in the room.
